HEY, I’M CHARLES, aka “Chas” and a few other choice nicknames. When I’m not working with words (my day job), I like to tramp the woods, camera in hand. Even the shortest of nature walks is an ethereal experience for me, with sights shaped by my other senses: the crunch of twigs and leaves underfoot, the earthy smells, the cool of the shade. Kneeling next to a stream creates an anticipation of what’s around the bend. I hope my photos will take you to some of those same places or even inspire your own nature walks.
