ARE THIS AUTUMN’S tints and tones richer than usual? The foliage on and around my little Earth acre has been especially rewarding this fall. Staying close to home has inspired me to frame those hues differently than the jigsaw puzzle landscapes I usually capture.
Autumn itself seems to have its own set of seasons. It starts with that first cold snap, and snap is an apt word because the crisp north wind and chilling rain immediately sever your relationship with summer. Cold, moist nights then hasten the decay and the advancing shades of sienna. Fall will take a final, literal turn when the trees loosen their grip on their leaves.
Each year, it’s a beautiful death.
